Deer and Kitten Photo... Pass it Along!

I don't know where this photo came from, but I found it on Facebook with the instructions to pass it along, so that's exactly what I'm doing. It's one of the most precious photos I've come across!

If you're reading this post via email, please click on my post title so you can see the photo which features a couple of curious deer peering through a sliding glass door at a  house cat.

Charming and heart-warming... this photo is one I'll be telling friends about.

By the way, if you have photos of deer you'd allow me to share on The Homeschooling Blog, please let me know! I'd love to see the, and so love to share them!

Scholastic Offers Printables, Lesson Plans, and other Homeschooling Resources

I'm always looking for additional teaching resources to aid the learning of my 3rd and 5th graders. When my kids were in Kindergarten, it was easier to find printables and lesson plans online... there are so many sites offering great worksheets for early learners.
Not all Kindergarten Worksheets are created equally though, and as your kids get older, it becomes more challenging to find a good variety of quality printables online. Who has time to scour the web looking? I sure don't. Occasionally I find a site I really like that offers cool lessons and worksheets on a particular topic, but ultimately falls short in others. Consequently I do a lot of jumping around, as I attempt to piece together an assignment or lesson.
Been there done that? If you have elementary or middle-school aged children, Scholastic offers worksheets, lesson plans, printable award certificates, organizers, writing prompts and so much more. Did you know this? Just visit http://printables.scholastic.com and check it out. You are free to view samples from each grade level. The plans are affordable and give you access to thousands of pages to use at home.
Whether you're homeschooling, or just trying to supplement your child's learning at home, this site has a lot to offer. I've not used Scholastic's resources... but I like what I see.
Perhaps I'll give Scholastic a try next Summer and use there resources as part of a Summer school program? Have you used Scholastic? If so, share your thoughts and experiences!

Who's Cuter... A Baby or a Puppy? Winner Will Get $5,000!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puppies vs. Babies for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Oh, the complexities of life just never end. We're faced with difficult decisions everyday, like where to invest our savings, who to allow to babysit our children on date nights, oh... and who to vote for in the Puppies vs. Babies online contest. Do we vote for a beautiful baby, or a sweet little puppy? Who shall win the $5,000 prize?

Ok, so I will vote for a baby. I just don't see giving that kind of cold cash to a puppy. lol Sure the puppy's owner might find it rather exciting, but a baby could actually use that money... for college, or baby formula. That stuff is rather expensive after all! I honestly think every new mom should be handed a wad of cash upon delivering her bouncing baby. Our children are awesome, but rather expensive, and in order to stay healthy, mom needs to take care of herself too! Am I right? Oh, don't get me started.

So, the battle of Puppies vs. Babies is in full swing. Go vote today, then come back and tell me who you voted for and why. Puppy? Baby? What caught your eye? Was it the dimples? That bald head? Or perhaps that curly tail?

          Professional and Cute Laptop Bags

I have yet to purchase a laptop bag... despite having looked several places. I do have an inexpensive laptop case, just to keep my computer safe, when tossing it into a tote bag. Not really professional though... huh?

I really enjoy looking online at Laptop Cases and found a few at GotBags.com that really caught my eye. Might have to let Santa know about this site! I'm sharing a photo of my favorite bag here. What's not to like? So stylish and cute!
They offer a handful of stylish Laptop Bags For Women, some with wheels. Save your back and pull your luggage, including that which carries your precious computer behind you!

If you're into Britto Luggage GotBags.com has that too!
